Youth Groups

Ages 2-7 years old Group

The kids in this age group enjoy learning about Jesus and God's Word in many fun different ways. We try to mix up the learning to keep the kids interested. We have crafts, movies, lessons, sing songs, and play games during this youth group.

Ages 8-14 years old Group

The kids in this group enjoy going into more detail about God's Word and how to apply it to their daily lives. We also do crafts, games, and songs with age group, but we go into more detail about living a strong confident Christian life for the Lord in a society that is becoming increasingly more difficult to do so in.

Ages 15-18 years old Group

We deal the difficult situations that face today's teenagers. We provide them with a safe environment that offers opportunities to share their thoughts and struggles with other teenagers their age that are going through the same situations. We provide this age group with the knowledge and the confidence needed to be a Christian in one of the hardest environments to do so, high school.

Junior Church

*Runs 1st & 3rd Sunday Mornings of the Month during Regular Worship Service @10:30am

Matthew 13:31-32 states, "Another parable He put forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof."

We believe that the earlier we plant the seed for the love of the Lord the bigger and stronger that plant will grow. We understand that the children are the future of our congregation and the earlier that we get them involved in the work of the Lord the more involved they will be in the future. We also believe that, if taught properly starting a young enough age, they will they will be stronger more confident Christians into adulthood.

That is why we offer junior church to all of the children from Kindergarten thru sixth grade every Sunday Morning. We give the children a real Sunday morning adult service atmosphere with a teaching method that is geared toward teaching the children in a fun innovative way. We use music, videos, crafts, & games to teach the children about the Lord. The best part is they are having so much fun that they do not even realize they are learning.

Activities

We plan an outing or activity for our youth almost every month in order to give them opportunities to build friendships with one another, which ensures that they have those strong positive influences as they grow up and run into trials throughout their lives. Some of the more recent activities that we have planned were a Congregational Night Out at an Altoona Curve Game, trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo, movie night, and video game night. We are always planning new trips and activities and if anyone has any suggestions, please contact one of the above individuals.
